The Weight to Go meal replacement diet was formulated by Dr David Ashton in 2005. In a medical career spanning over 30 years, including launching and directing the British Women’s Heart Study, Dr Ashton was able to see the link between a patient’s weight and their increased risk of serious medical illness. He also saw that there was no adequate response to this being provided in the public sector, and in 2005 set up Healthier Weight to help overweight and obese patients.
Soon after launching the business he developed the Weight to Go weight loss diet.
