Average weight loss on the diet is about 1 stone a month, or 3lb a week, depending on your starting weight.
We recommend you drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. We do not specify large quantities but advise that you drink when you are thirsty.
- Tea and coffee - YES but without milk and sugar
- Soft drinks - YES but choose zero-calorie or low calorie varieties such as Diet Coke
- Water - YES (but be aware that some flavoured waters eg Volvic contain up to 125kcal so check the label)
- Alcohol - NO as it has a high calorific content
- Fruit juices - NO as they contain more calories than you may think!
The Weight to Go diet is a meal replacement diet which means that you replace your normal food menu with a Weight to Go alternative. You will eat only what is provided within your chosen diet box with the exception of a portion of fruit and a portion of vegetables that you will add each day. There is no weighing of ingredients or complicated recipes to follow, simply eat and enjoy losing weight.
Clinical trials have shown that meal replacements offer a highly effective, predictable and safe approach to weight loss. In fact, more than 3 times as much weight is lost and maintained using meal replacements compared with traditional diets.
In addition to the food in your Weight to Go diet box, you will need to add a portion of fruit and a portion of vegetables each day. These can be fresh, frozen, dried or tinned.
Example of fruit portion = 1 apple, 1 banana, 2 plums, 7 cherries, 7 grapes, 12 raspberries, handful raisins
Example of veg portion = 80g carrots or broccoli or green beans, 1/2 side plate of salad, NOT POTATO
You can stay on the Weight to Go diet for as long as you need to lose weight. We have people with over 10 stones to lose who have been successfully following Weight to Go for many months now, and we also have people who just want to shed half a stone, who follow the diet for just a couple of weeks.
Weight to Go is a Low Calorie Diet, whereas Lighter Life and Cambridge are Very Low Calorie Diets. They offer you under 800kcals a day and are liquid only. We offer you at least 850 kcals a day, plus you add your own fresh fruit and vegetables. But most importantly we give you a combination of shakes and real food.
No, the Weight to Go diet is highly nutritious and well balanced to ensure you lose weight without going into ketosis.
They can be heated in a saucepan over a low heat, or simply pop them into the microwave.
For the best results and to create the most filling drink, we recommend that you use an electric blender.
If, however, you do not have access to a blender, our handy shakers have been designed to help. Carry your shake sachet in your bag and when you are ready, simply add some water and ice (if possible) and give it a good shake. Perfect for people on the move!
The shakes are milk based and will last in the fridge for up to 12 hours or out of the fridge for approx 6 hours. They are thicker and creamier if consumed immediately - if left to stand, give it a shake before drinking.
The shakes are delicious when blended with fresh fruit into a nutritious smoothie. Or you could substitute the water in a vanilla shake with brewed black coffee for a creamy latte. Further suggestions are provided with your order.
Yes, a lot of people who regularly eat the meals add their own personal touches. Adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs or spices is an ideal way to add some variety into your diet without adding extra calories.

To maximise your work out it is important not to be hungry. Eating a Weight to Go bar before you exercise will give you an energy boost without adding too many calories to your daily programme. What’s more, they are high in protein, so will make you feel full for longer.
Often people following a diet plan feel isolated but there is no reason why the whole family can’t enjoy the Weight to Go range. To add extra calories for hungry partners or children simply serve their meals with pasta, rice or a jacket potato. For anyone under the age of 16, we recommend you seek a GP's advice before commencing our plan full time.
