How much weight will I lose?
Average weight loss on the programme is about 1 stone a month, or 3 lbs a week, depending on your starting weight.
What can I drink?
We recommend you drink plenty of water throughout the day. We do not specify large quantities of water, but advise that you drink when you are thirsty. We do not recommend that you drink juices or alcohol and avoid milk in tea and coffee. It is fine however to drink low calorie drinks like Diet Coke.
How does it work?
Clinical trials have shown that meal replacements offer a highly effective, predictable and safe approach to weight loss. In fact, more than 3 times as much weight is lost and maintained using meal replacements compared with traditional diets.
How long will I have to stay on it for?
You can stay on the Weight to Go Programme for as long as you need to lose weight. We have people with over 10 stones to lose who have been successfully following Weight to Go for many months now, and we also have people who just want to shed half a stone, who follow the programme for just a couple of weeks.
Is this diet similar to Lighter Life or Cambridge?
Weight to Go is a Low Calorie Diet, whereas Lighter Life and Cambridge are Very Low Calorie Diets. They offer you under 800kcals a day and are liquid only. We offer you at least 850 kcals a day, plus you add your own fresh fruit and vegetables. But most importantly we give you a combination of shakes and real food.
Will I go into ketosis?
No, Weight to Go offers a highly nutritional well balanced diet to ensure you lose weight without going into ketosis.
How do I heat the meals?
They can be heated in a saucepan over a low heat, or simply pop them into the microwave.
How do I mix the shakes?
For the best results and to create the most filling drink, we recommend that you use an electric blender. If, however, you do not have access to a blender, the shake can be mixed by hand or in a device such as a cocktail shaker.
I don’t have a blender at work, how can I make up the shakes when I am in the office?
Our handy shakers have been designed for this purpose. Carry your shake sachet in your bag and when you are ready, simply add some water and ice (if possible) and give it a good shake. Perfect for people on the move!
How long will the shakes last once made up?
The shakes are milk based and will last in the fridge for up to 12 hours or out of the fridge for approx 6 hours. They are thicker and creamier if consumed immediately, if left to stand, give a shake before drinking.
Can I add anything to the shakes?
The shakes are delicious when blended with fresh fruit into a nutritious smoothie.
I don’t really like ready meals, how are the Weight to Go meals different from other ready meals I have tasted?
The Weight to Go range is absolutely delicious. We take enormous pride in the food we offer and have a dedicated team of chefs who have taken great care to ensure the food you eat is not only highly nutritious, but wholesome and tasty. All the Weight to Go meals are made from prime ingredients from carefully sourced specialist producers who care about the food they produce. Our unique cooking method seals in all the wonderful flavours without using any additives or preservatives.
Can I add herbs and spices to the meals?
Yes, a lot of people who regularly eat the meals add their own personal touches. Adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs or spices is an ideal way to add some variety into your diet without adding extra calories.
What can I eat before taking exercise to give me an energy boost?
To maximise your work out it is important not to be hungry. Eating a Weight to Go bar before you exercise will give you an energy boost without adding too many calories to your daily programme. What’s more, they are high in protein, so will make you feel full for longer.
What if I have special dietary requirements?
All allergens are clearly detailed on the meals. The Weight to Go range is low in salt, sugar and fat and contains no hydrogenated fat. I don’t like being the only one eating these meals. Can my partner have them too?
Often people following a diet plan feel isolated but there is no reason why the whole family can’t enjoy the Weight to Go range. To add extra calories for hungry partners or children simply serve their meals with pasta, rice or a jacket potato.
